Bula Bula from Fiji!!!!
Well we arrived in Fiji at 5am after the WORST flight ever!!! The turbulance was really bad it was horrible. The heat was unbelievable just waiting in the airport! It was over 25 degrees at 5am!We had crossed the date line and lost the 3rd Feb and travelled past the equator. We arrived by taxi at Nadi Bay resort and got a couple of hours sleep in our air con room! The people were so nice at the hostel- everywhere we went we could here Bula Bula! We spent the day round the pool and chilling out- we got burnt in like 10 minutes. We booked an island trip to Mana Island and had to go get some cash out from the supermarket 10 mins away- well talk about hot! We had tea in the Whisper restaurant watching the lizards running up the wall. I said to Bobski something is so going to land on me and after him saying calm down a bloody cockroach decided to land and run up my chest!!!!!!!!!!!that was it- finished our drinks and went to bed!!! Yak!
We were up early to get picked up by our 'luxury coach' which turned out to be a landrover that we had to squeeze into! We met some nice german lads- Rob and Phil and sat with them on the beach waiting for our 'ferry' which turned out to be a small speedboat!!ha ha!We all boarded and set off for Mana Island extremely excited! I was thinking in my head 'wouldnt it be funny if they driver stopped the engines and said ONLY KIDDING' and with that the boat stopped and broke down because we had a fuel problem! It did this like 4 times and we saw a shark!!!!Get me out of here!!!The last time he took the lead out of the engine and placed it in the plastic fuel container and simply put his foot over it haha! We arrived on Mana which was so beautiful it was breath taking! White sand and crystal clear water- we thought we were in paradise-we headed to our private dorm- we were very sweaty and the electricity only comes on from 5pm-8!!!
We had such a good time on the island we met some wonderful people and exchanged stories, played a lot of s*** head, eat some weird and wonderful food (it was like Oliver twist 'please can we have some more'!), did lots of swimming in the sea, watched fire dancing, fiji dancing, sunbathing and lots more!! The nights were lots of fun and on the first night we saw a cyclone!!We did have to laugh when the Darwin girls picked up a snake from the water and another girl put it around her neck as a necklace until the locals started screaming and saying it was highly poisonous hahahaha. Couldnt believe sitting down on the the beach on the first day I could hear 3 Liverpool accents blazing out- i didnt come to Fiji to listen to that lol!!! Our room was based in the workers village- a church a school and everything was around us- it was an experience to mix with the locals. This is where our adventure has really begun and we were so sad to leave!! Fiji is beatuiful and so cheap- we will definitely be back here very soon!!!We walked with our bags across the sand up to the pier in 30+ degrees and everyone waved us off-awwww!!!
This girl was telling us she had gone on one of the fishing trips and she had accidently caught a turtle- they told her to bring it back and use it as a tourise attraction and they kept it chained on the beach. The next day she went back to see it and it had gone- when she sat down for tea that night.......guess what it was on the menu?!! If you ask me i feel sorry for the dogs and cats on that island- if they run out of supplies again then who knows what will happen.
Bula bula....... cant upload the pics on here but will next time.
