Hello everyone and a happy new year to you all. We have finally made it back to sydney after a hectic week of travelling and sleeping in camp sights.
Christmas day was spent in our little hut in Batemans Bay. We decided that seen as santa wouldnt know where we were this year we would each buy each other a little somthing and head down to the beach with a bottle of beer in hand and open our pessies. The boys came up trumps and got me a new t-shirt and a cricket ball which was a bit of a nice touch. So seen as it wasnt going to be christmas turkey this year with all the trimmings, I did miss those pigs in blankets, we decided that the best way to celebrate an aussie xmas would be to have a few beers and a bbq on the beach. It was gorgeous, even though we had a bit too much to eat. I think Wills eyes were bigger than his belly seen as he threw two sausage sarnnies in bin, but the old boy did manage to polish off some kangaroo meat and his chokie cake a little later.
So after lunch we decided to give that new cricket ball a testing out and play a bit of beach cricket. Now let me tell you it blood hard work chasing a cricket ball around when you've just stuffed your face with burgers, chicken and sausages and it dosnt help when you only have one fielder. But I still managed to put 28 runs on the board before the close of play which left me in second place just behind Dave boy. After our exciting day it was time to head back to the room and watch a bit of crimbo television which was about as good as the tv back home on christmas day with the same old rubbish on.
On boxing day we were rudely and unexspectedly awoken by the cleanner knocking on our door and telling us we needed to be out of the room within the next half an our seen as someone else had booked the room. What a shocker, so the receptionist informed us that on boxing day everyone heads for the coast so its fully booked (thanx for telling us that a couple of days earlier love). So of we went in land to a little town called Goulburn, were we checked into another hut in a caravan park for two nights.
On the 28th we ventured of to a coastal town called Wollongong for a couple of nights. Before heading up to Sydney for the new year to stay at a friends place who we met the first time we were in the city. On friday night we had a great night out in Wollongong, it could have had a bit to do with the five paul wellers (stellas) we had in the bar before hitting the night club and then me and Dave had a bit of a sing song and a kebab on the way home.
So finally here we are new years eve in Sydney. I hope you all have a great new year and I look forward to hearing from ya all in 2007.
