Hello all, this week has been pretty much about TRYING to find a job to no avail..as I packed in my door to door sales job on Tuesday. Its so hard to fined charitable people these days( but I know how I treat people when they come to the door back home), I mean I would have taken one deal a day but people dont want to put their hands in their pockets so after another day without a deal (it a long 10 hour day when your not making any money) I decided that this whole working for commission buisness wasnt for me and handed in my cards.
It didnt help my sales pitch on Monday that I had a skinfull the night before. Me and the boy Dela Mooreseseses (dave) were invited to a house warming party at one of our work mates places. Believe me it wasnt up to much, I put it down to the long week in the field and they were just talking about work. So we decided to make a quick escape and head into town for a couple of shandies with the Danish girls (emile and Fie) we met on our first stay in Sydney. It turned out to be a really good night and the girls were pleased to see us so happy days.
As I said on Monday I packed in the old job so it was back on the job hunt on Tuesday and it started quite promising. In a matter of hours I had two interview lined up one on the Wednesday and the other on Thursday both for recruitment agencies. I informed them both that I would just about do any kind of work (in reason) but they both said January is very slow for work and that they would give me a call when somthing comes in. Im still waiting....
So in the mean time while I was waiting for that all important phone call we decided to go out to the Gaffs (the local pub/nightclub.) anual foam and wet T-shirt night. I mean we were mainly their for research reasons, honest. And the Shampoos starting to get a bit low so it was a great opportunity to get a free wash.lol. As the foam came down it was impossible to see anyone in their let alone find my lost flip flop. Even though at one point I though I found it but when I got outside it turned out to be an Aussie one. GREAT just what I wanted two different flip flops. At one point I could see Dave under the foam gasping for air as he sang his heart out to a Westlife number. I thought about saving him but it was Westlife song so I left him to it. Anyway he was ribbing me all night for socialising with the so called enemy otherwise known as zee French. A friendly bunch from the hostel and as people know I do speak a bit of the old lingo, although their is a bit of a war going of now as they barged past us the other day.lol. It turned out to be another good night with everyone soaked to the bone at the end of the night.
So last night was spent in front of the TV watching a couple of films I picked up for three bucks each. Night at the Museum and The Departed, great films and it made it even better cos it was pizza night at the hostel.
