Aloha, I hope 2007 started well for you all. Its been a pritty hectic week for us boys down under because we've been on the job hunt. Yes Im afraid to say it but the time has come to put the tops back on the sun cream, get of our backsides and start earning some aussie bucks.
So on Monday we decided that we would hit the golf course for a little relaxation with the boys from Sunderland. I wish we had a little wager on it now seen as I playing the round of my life.. well the front nine at least. I couldnt believe the start I had keeping up with the big guns Dave and Kev it was like Faldo keeping up with Tiger and Els on the PGA tour. The back nine didnt go as well but I put that down to being attacked by a giant lizard on the eleventh hole. So there I was chipping a nice little wedge back onto the fairway (the only bad shot I played all day) when a snakes head came hissing towards me from the under growth. I tell ya what its a good job im quick on my feet or I may have been heading home with half a leg. A girlly scream later the boys came to check it out, Dave was like David Attenborough running a cross with camera in hand rummaging through the under growth looking for signs of the creature. And then out of the weeds came this giant Lizard, it was huge..more like a babe crock if ya ask me. So quickly I chipped the ball out of the woods and left the lizard looking for another victim to eat.
That night it was time to say thankyou to the guys for putting us up for a week and check into the Boomerang backpackers once again. Man I forgot how bad this hostel was the first time around but its cheep and clean so it will do untill the money starts coming in.
The rest of the week was spent job hunting as I said. So on Tuesday we hit the agencies looking for work and by that afternoon we had two interview for PR companies lined up for the following morning. Now you may have thought our look was in, I mean we had only applyed for two and both of them wanted to offer me and Davey boy jobs. The first one and the one I am working for at the moment is called Biz Saavy. We applied for an ad asking for Sports minded people with events experience, but it turned out that the job entailed working for a company called "Plan" and knocking on doors in suburbs about an hour away from Sydney asking people to sponsor children in Afria. Its such hard work trying to get money for these kids and Ive had so many doors closed in my face and the worst part about it is its commission based so we only get paid when we get somone to sponsor a kid. We have managed to get two between us so I dont know if we will be showing up on monday morning.
