Late night out last night is the reason for the delay in this posting. After a long day "working", went out with a large group for $1 beers (and also watched some hockey) then out to Acme Pizza for some delicious beers and tequila. Yesterday was also the day that I received my next deployment orders...heading to lovely Farmington, CT where apparently, each of the local adjusters in that area are at full capacity and are in need of assistance. Farmington is right outside Hartford so essentially, I'm heading back to the same area I was in a week ago. However, pretty pumped to actually get back out in the field and not be stuck in cubicle land.
I leave on Monday, Jan. 31 and will be there for 13 days. It's a pretty bogus tour since after 14 days, I would earn three break days. I'm only working 13 days because it will take me right up to the cruise. Since I had heard whispers that we would be handling claims from home for two weeks (virtual resolution), I had already booked my flight for Orlando out of Rochester.
So, the plan in which I spent most of yesterday afternoon and today concocting (and a real moronic plan in fact) is to see if I can work that extra day to get to 14 days, then drive back to Rochester at midnight on the 15th. After a five and half hour drive, I'll drop all my luggage off at home and grab my cruise bag (which is already packed) and book it to the airport to make my flight at 7am. This will be the first time I'll have to flex my Silver Preferred status with US Airways to bypass the ticket and security lines. It's going to be a very very long travel day and I just pray that the weather gods allow me safe passage. Need to pass on the good juju during this tour in order to make this happen!
