As you could probably tell by now, I'm back in the saddle and back at work. Upon my return home from vacation, I learned that I had been deployed back to Connecticut for another tour of handling ice damming claims. I decided to drive instead of fly since I wasn't really well packed, dealing with airport security did not sound like a very fun time. In the email I received from workforce management, they booked me in two hotels, which meant that I could pick and choose which area to stay in. After receiving my claims, I decided to move to a Courtyard Marriott in Danbury. It was a great move because it turned out that they had a promotion going on where I scored two free nights AND two free movie tickets. Holy score!
Been super busy again this tour. Not only am I handling new claims but I'm also slowly receiving emails and calls from insureds from my last tour requesting additional help with their claims so I'm reopening those claims as well. One plus from being here so far is that I got a chance to visit my former employer back in sophomore year of college...Club Getaway! It was a camp that I worked at back in the summer of 2003 where during the weekdays, it served as a day camp for campers at other camps and on weekends, it served as a Club Med. Really fun atmosphere working with an international staff. And it was really neat driving through the grounds during the winter time.
Not sure when I'll get another chance to write but I'm hoping it slows down a bit because this area in Danbury is actually one of prettiest areas in terms of housing with stonewalls which surround the perimeter. I really tend to geek out when it comes to stonewalls.
