After several long wintry weeks, it looks as though for the first time since I've been in Danbury, the weather is breaking and the work is starting calm down to the point where I actually have some free time. It's been super sunny here the past couple of days soooooooo(knock on wood) I am going to finally head out and do some exploring in the area. I moved one inspection to today so that now I only have one inspection on Tuesday. If all goes well (knock on wood again) I am going to trek up to Kent and do some ferocious hiking along the Appalachian Trail, something that I've wanted to do for some time but the weather and the work volume never really cooperated. When I was working at the resolution desk in December, I couldn't help but become engulfed in reading blog entries of those who have hiked the Trail from beginning to end and I have so much admiration for those people who finished it all. The section of trail I want to hike is small potatoes (6 miles) compared to the trail itself but it's supposed to get up to about 55 degrees and sunny on Tuesday, which will make the hike very enjoyable. It'll also cleanse my need to be outdoors and away from work for a while. It's been a super busy tour but it comes to an end on Friday, then I get to head home for some much needed R&R.
