See ya later Italy! I honestly am still shocked that I am leaving today, though I've been traveling for 12 days it feels like I just got off the plane. I've just started getting used to the pace, the train stations, the eating gelato every day... So I say goodbye to pizza and wine and hello to bratwurst and beer (oh yeah... there's good beer! totally didn't plan that!)
Venice certainly is just as beautiful the second day as it is the first. I took an easy morning to sleep a bit and get laundry done (woo!!! clean clothes!!!). I headed into Venice in the afternoon with the anticipation of taking some photos on the Grand Canal at night. I parked myself on a dock overlooking the Grand Canal at the end of a quiet walkway and enjoyed the tranquility of the city, something that's actually not always easy to find.
Walked around for a bit and headed back towards the train station. Ate a late lunch and my final gelato (sigh), and parked myself on the bridge outside the train station. Took a while, but the sun went down eventually (I think this was one of the few times I've experienced wanting the sunset to be OVER so I could take photos). Took a bunch of photos, who's surprised, ad was actually pretty happy with a few. Finally called it a night and headed back to the hostel. It's 8:34am and I'm about to head to the train station bound for Munich. I'm excited and nervous all over again to experience another new country. As long as I don't get lost at the Hofbrauhaus, I think I'll be alright (or maybe that's what I wanted to do...).
