Goodbye Italy, hello Germany! Managed to cover three counties yesterday! Went through Austria on the way to Germany, what a gorgeous country. Everywhere it was small churches on hilltops with snow covered mountains towering overhead.. beautiful! About six hours total on the train and I arrived in Munich, Germany!

I met a guy studying in Dublin who's from the US and we headed together to the most famous beer hall in the world, the Hofbrauhaus.. over 4000 people can be seated and drinking there at once, and it was definitely a busy Saturday night! Started the night with a liter (all they serve after 6PM, my kind of place!) of the Hofbrau Dunkel, it was sweet relief from the horrors of Italian beer making.

We talked for a while with Germans and a guy from Portugal around our parents age (haha just a reference point!) Another couple from the Netherlands and their son (our age) also joined the table. When the older generation had enough, we went to drink with the son and his friends from Germany/Netherlands. We were both bought another liter, and proceeded to have the most fantastic first night in Bavaria you could have. We were at the Hofbrauhaus for almost six hours.

Today, I think we will go to Dachau.. and then I'm sure I'll find another place to grab a beer (though I WILL go back to the Hofbrauhaus!) PROST!!
