Decided to write this while I'm experiencing a true night in München. Had a very sobering day with one of my hostel mates at Dachau, the Nazi labor camp in Munich. Walking the grounds and reading about the heinous acts that took place there were difficult to digest. It is difficult to imagine that people could even think of the punishments that were enforced on the prisoners there.
After getting back from Dachau, it was definitely time to lie down for a bit. I decided that the evening should be filled by another ufantastic beer hall, this time the Augistiner Bräu-München. Of course, my luck would have it that I'd end up sitting down right next to the malter for the company.. the man that handles one of the most important ingredients for the largest brewery in München.. oh and he's 27. Had a great beer conversation, we talked about the purity laws for beer in München, the new things happening in American beer, and everything else in between. It was a fantastic time, with the brass band playing in the background all the way. Tomorrow, I plan to do a bit of a bierhall crawl through the city, ending once again at the famous Hofbräuhaus. I really do love München!
