Since I am working every day, not much time left for writing the blog for the last days............sorry guys, but we are NOT on holidays ;)

So now I (Belinda) try to summarize what happened within the last days:

Monday:
Working................nothing else for me, Bernd was calling companies to get appointments for interviews, but still - nothing other than friendly persons on the phone, telling him that he should send them his CV..........
Melina has been at Auntie Loreen, and enjoyed her Bajan neighbourhood *ggg*

Tuesday:
We drove to St. Winifred School which Melina will probably attend very soon. The head deputy, Mrs. St. John, was very nice and gave us all the necessary information. She told us that after the application process Melina should be able to start attending school within few days. Though the school fees are not very cheap (BD$ 2.125,- per term/3 months = EUR 900,-), I found this school to be very professional and what the principal told us seemed to be the best choice on the island. Because Melina doesn´t speak English very well (honestly she understands almost all but is still too shy to talk), this school will help her to get into this language for sure. Additionally, the school grounds are very clean and well maintained, not like most of the other government schools, which look quite ugly from outside. So, for me as the mother, St. Winifred is "the choice". We now have to calculate the costs and look if we can afford it................
So we left the school grounds very happy because of the good news from the deputy head to take Melina almost right away. Ah, I forgot to mention that the school is just 10 mins. away from my office! So, no extra driving to school each morning.......traffic anyways is heavy enough..........

After the visit I went to work and Bernd drove to Loreen to drop off Melina there. I don´t know what Bernd did all the day, but, well, he has only 1 week left, so I let him be *ggggggg* - just jokin ;) Of course he was very busy with ironing, washing laundry etc........and, of course, maintaining OUR car (pronounced "kjar" in Bajan language *haha*).

Wednesday:
Honestly, because of working, I forgot what we did, except that we filled out the schools application and that we went to "Cocomos" in Holetown. "Cocomos" is a very nice and relaxing bar at the beach in Holetown, where we watched the sun going down and had a few drinks. VERY nice evening.
Ah, before we went there, Kay was teaching English to Melina, and if you can trust the opinion of Ilona (the owner of Villa Marie who is staying here at the moment), she did it very well. Kay also wrote a letter for my boss Cliff, he needs to give this letter to the immigration to explain why he wants to employ me. Kay did this very well, I was really impressed by the way she wrote this letter! Kay - thank you VERY much !! I think if this letter won´t impress the Immigration, then...........I don´t know, but I am sure, and also Cliff, that this letter will blow their minds away haha ;) So if Cliff is right, the minister will sign the work permit within next week........but as you maybe already learned while reading our blog, it could take more time than you may expect. But anyways, I will get this f**** ras***** bashm***** bacchan*** work permit for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!YEAH!!! And hey, I forgot to mention that I have the best boss from here to Texas, yeah!
Cliff - thanks very much for giving me this chance to work for you!! I am soo happy to be here!

OK, enough for today, seems that the 2 Cuba Libre Bernd made for me are way too much for my brain.........*ggg*

Oh, on Saturday Bernd is leaving...........wuh. You can imagine that I am not very happy knowing this..............but, well, it has to be, and - "soon come", like one client used to say (means "see u soon").

A short Bajan lesson:

raaaaaaaaaashole = aaaaaaaaaah, I think u know what this means....haha, just cut the "r"
If you CAN believe my boss Cliff, as a lady, you still can say "raaaas" instead of the whole word to stay innocent....haha

car = [kjar] - very easy
place = [plies] - little bit more complicated to pronounce, but once you stay here for several days, you will get it!!
bashment!!!! = means something like "Leck mi am Oasch!!" or "Boah ey!!"
soon come = ok this is not Bajan, but Jamaican, which I learned from one of our clients. Donnie, who is a very funny guy, unfortunately he left today just for eating a jerk chicken in Jamaica............and continuing to Florida. But hey, he will return by the end of the month. This guy had his desk in my office room for the last days, and folks, we had so much fun. Once, when my PC was quitting work once again (had to restart it), he said to me, with a very serious look in his face "well honey, I got my hammer with me....". He also said that my husband Bernie (to explain: we chose Bernie because Bernd is too complicated to pronounce for the locals) is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nice and that I can be sooooooooo proud to be married with him! Well, actually, I am. Very much. Because he is the best man from here to Texas. *haha* No, jus jokin. From here to Pluto. He is the best. No matter what you ask him, you will get it. If it is a Roti (a Tortilla-kind wrap with potatoes and beef or fish or chicken), an ironed shirt or trousers, a car which doesn´t work, a child that doesn´t hear, or even if it is someting almost impossible - Bernie McEnearnie will fix it. No - this is not a ridiculous writing, this is a love letter to my beloved husband. Thank you so much for all you gave me!!!!!!!!
