oh my goodness. sunday 23rd, I got burnt to the max on Bondi beach. I had tons of suncream on but my face, neck and chest burnt so much it looked like it had scarred. But its slowly going down now which is good.
So christmas eve was absolutley unreal. We turned up at darling harbour and it was FULL of people. It looked like an 18-30 holiday cruise or something. There were about six boats all waiting to leave, all big white gorgeous ships and ours rocked up (number 5, Katika) and it was the tiniest green cargo fishing boat thing called the Funboat! We set off for our 3 hour cruise anyway and headed towards the harbour bridge and the opera house which was just amazing. I think the best thing about the cruise was when the sun was setting over the bridge and the opera house and the DJ was playing 'Last Christmas' by George Michael! Its just one of those things or one of those moments in your life that you never ever forget. To be with my new family on a cruise, on christmas eve, looking at the sights we were looking at. After the cruise was over we headed towards The Gaff nightclub for the after party. We thought we would have transport to take us the half an hour trip away but Hallas, being plastered at this point thought it would be a good idea to lead a troop of about 50, also plastered, party goers there by walking! I don't think she really had a clue which direction we were meant to be going in so we ditched the troops and jumped in a taxi! The club was good. Full of people in santa hats dancing away to cheesy xmas tunes. We ended up dancing on the tables as usual, and Harris managed to attract as what I can only describe as a sweaty wannabe desperately wanting attention from any guy who would glance in his direction. of course...Harris was loving it!!!! (i dont think!)
Christmas Day- We woke up feeling quite rough to be honest! but we also woke to find richard twiss (!!!) in our kitchen making sugared mangoes and pancakes for breakfast which went down a treat! We all snuggled on the sofa with our duvets and opened our presents from home which was pretty awesome! we all got clothes or pjs which was cool! tom bought me some fake snow (which we made the following day and ended up having a fight with it all!) and fluff bought me a mould to make some ice shot glasses which went down a treat at our party that night! After opening the presents, we headed to the church up the road for mass. The whole place was absolutely packed which is not an exaggeration in the slightest. There were even people listening to the service outside and on the road, it was crazy but nice. After that we headed home to pack up a picnic and headed down to the beach. So our christmas lunch consisited of just a cheese sandwich and some biscuits, we were on Bondi beach on xmas day so we could'nt really complain! Apparantly it was the coldest christmas day in 13 years only reaching 20 deg C! We all handed our secret santa presents (which wasn't much of a secret!) and Johnno had bought me this amazing photo album full of photos of all of us which was amazing. We played a bit of football and ate far too much food so we had the good old traditional sleep then we got ready for our party! We ended up sharing our roof with the Irish guys that live in our building for our BBq and party. There was drinking and singing and a hell of a lot of food! It was a brilliant night and I got a lot of video footage! It ended with us drinking straight shots of vodka with our new aussie mates, Paul and Evan!
Boxing Day- Weather was absolutely beautiful! We went to Randwick Races today which was another unforgettable day. We all dressed up in our dresses and shirts and bet on loads of races. I think Harris was the only one who was up at the end of the day! I bet on a horse called Global Identity and it was pretty typical that it didn't even leave the starting grid! After all 7 of the races were over we found this awesome band that were singing all these old classic songs. We sat down on the grass singing along and in the end me and Hallas just got up and started dancing! Dancing barefoot in 26/27deg heat on Boxing Day in a dress at the races- really doesn't get much better than that. After that we headed to The Rocks near the Harbour Bridge in the city and ended up at this little Italian restaurant. We left soon after to snuggle down at home with a cup of tea and a tim tam!! xxx
