Woke up very comfortably after a night in the YHA and awoke to a very blue sky. We packed up and left at 9.30am to head to the south coast and finally make it into Victoria. As we headed furthur south, the weather deteriorated as expected and we again found ourselves at the mercy of Hallas' driving in heavy rain through a national park. We passed through quite a few small towns along the way until we finslly crossed the NSW/Victoria border much to Fowler's excitment. From Eden right the way through to Orbost there were no service stops other than the small ones on the side of the road so Hallas decided to squat on the side of the road in full view of all the cars passing by! We stopped in a place called Cann River Valley for an egg and bacon roll. We then finally made it to Lakes Entrance which is meant to be beautiful usually but it was raining...yet again! We decided to check into a YHA again, only $21.50 tonight which is not too bad. Because it was Hallas' birthday we decided to head to the local pool and spend the afternoon in the spa/sauna and I tried to chat up this 20year old aussie lifeguard dude called Josh! We came back and had smoked salmon on crackers and headed out for a mexican dinner for Hallas' birthday! a good day!
