So we went on the Favela tour today. It was so interesting and we enjoyed it alot. Luckily our tour guide was really good and he explained all corruption and crimes that occur in Brazil and why. It really was fascinating stuff. During the tour we visited a Favela school (see pics and video) It was great.

In the evening our hostel decided to go sit on the beach with a guitar and a couple of beers. This didnt appeal to us much as the beach front at night in Brazil can be dangerous and it had also become quite cold and rainy. Instead we went with our normal group of friends to a neighbouring hostel bar. Sat till about 3am having some drinks and then moved onto another bar/club.

This is where it all went wrong... The attached photo was taken just half an hour before disaster struck. Christy pictured above, decided she wanted some coke (the drug, not the drink) and went outside to get some... only it was a trap and she was arrested by undercover brazilian police!! We were powerless to help her and the corrupt police demanded 1000 for her freedom- or they would throw her in jail! Ross also pictured above went outside to see what was happening and the next thing we know- they´d both disappeared!

The police took over 600 of their cash and they are both ok now. We finally got to bed at 7am and had to be up at 11 to check out of hostel. Blimey, thats the biggest brazilian drama so far!
