We decided last night to get up early enough to watch the sunrise So the alarm clock was set for 5.45am and just after 6am several of us were up on the hotel roof. Unfortunately it was misty and although there was a lovely glow in the clouds we didn't actually see any sight of the sun for about another hour. However we did do Qigong and Tai Chi up there - some of us for two hours.
Breakfast was at 8 and the original plan was to leave about ten. However at breakfast that changed to 9.
Today is a travelling day. We are heading for Guilin which is a long way south. We got two buses back down to the bottom of the mountain. Found out from the notice at the bus stop that the distance is 33km. From there we had a coach waiting for us. This is to take us to Wuhan train station to catch an overnight sleeper to Guilin. On the way we said goodbye to five members of our group who were not staying for the final week. We dropped them at Xiangfan airport where unfortunately for them they had an eight hour wait for their plane to Beijing. It was very sad to say goodbye:(
The scenery as always has been fascinating. So far mostly agricultural and it is roasting out there. Air conditioning in the bus is great though which is just as well as this coach journey is about 6 hours long!
