After the cave we visited the Prince's Residences (at least that is what i think it was called) which was steeped in 600 years of history. Part of the history included a mountain which a number of us climbed. As if we haven't had enough of climbing and steps.
We had a great guide to take us around and explain the examination system whereby the peasants could try and improve their lot and that of their families. Some of the story was brought to life by actors.
It was pretty busy and the weather is very muggy and humid.
We followed this trip with dinner. Both the restaurants we went to today were great. The food was equally as good in each. Then we headed back to the hotel to get ready for an amazing performance telling the story of Guilin and the Elephant Legend.
I think we all thought it would be in a theatre but it was actually outside and we walked through a beautiful park and watched a big video screen; light show and music; dancing and finally a laser show projected onto the mountain in front of the river. Words can't describe any of it adequately but I think it would be fair to say that we all thoroughly enjoyed it.
