After lunch we took the coach to visit the Lu Di caves. As with Wudang mountain it was cleverly paved. They have built a tourist centre around it and although it looks lovely it is a bit too touristy. However the actual cave was remarkable. The shapes and formation of the rocks was stunning. There were coloured lights strategically placed but sometimes it looked a bit like a Christmas grotto. It was lovely to visit but on the way out you have to go through the shop and even if you just look at something then you are hassled big time by the assistants.
The shop leads you out into a lovely small park area but again there are swarms of Chinese women trying to sell a photographic book on Guilin. Mo is far too polite with them and one woman literally chased her all the way to the steps of our minibus! It was funny. One of our crowd did buy one and it was a beautiful book however it is now a question of where we fit everything as our suitcases are bulging! So I think we are all being very careful.
