Hi everyone,

We are now in Chiang Mai....the tour is done & dusted and we're on our own! Before I start with Chiang Mai, can I just say that the train journey here was the worst ever!! No more moaning, promise! It's been nice to stay in one place for longer than 2 nights and take our time. Chiang Mai is a lovely place and well worth a visit. Really good food and the night market is great. We seemed to have got here at the right time as a lantern festival is currently going on which is really nice to watch at night time and is a very traditional experience.

Our first full day here Danni & I went to the Tiger Kingdom. We decided to go in with the Smallest and Biggest tigers and my god was it a great experience. I have never seen Danni so scared in my life but afterwards we were buzzing. After we visited the snake farm and monkey place....not quite as exhilarating but all in all contributed to a great day!

The following day was full on...First we went to a butterfly & Orchid Farm (Yawn), then went on an elephant ride and fed him banana's before going on a hour and half jungle trek to a waterfall before white water rafting back down! Was a fast paced day but we both enjoyed it....unfortunately we didn't get long enough time with the elephants which was a shame! Plus the truck broke down on the way back...not the first time since being in Asia...the forth! That evening we thought we'd finish the day with a curry and a massage! By god did that Thai woman beat me...I'm aching like mad now, I don't think she could have put her thumbs any deeper into my shoulders! Danni went for a nice relaxing foot & leg one...I'll do the same next time!

Next stop Phuket for some well deserved beach time!
