We arrived in Chiang Mai in a luxurious minivan with our new buddies from the gibbon experience. We found a really nice guesthouse with a chilled vibe. We hired some bikes to explore the city. One evening we had a curry night followed by the England football game, the pub had a great vibe full of different nationalities but mainly english. Another evening We went to a Thai boxing match, the highlight was the kids fight and the 8 man blindfolded fight!
We treated ourselves to some foot reflexology, and went to the famous weekend market.
on our last day we went on a Thai cooking course as Amy insists we do one in every country we visit! It involved a market tour and buying ingredients, followed by cooking 5 dishes of your choice.
We said our goodbyes to our friends before flying south to Phuket to explore the islands.

Terra I am absolutly in love with Chiang Mai. It is eailsy my favorite city in the world! To tell you the truth, I will probably end up setteling down there:)There is just sooo much to do, and it still has a lot of cultural charm. You will find that the best trekking in Thailand is found around Chiang Mai. And you can forget about the Tiger Temple just outside of Bangkok, the Tiger Kingdom (just outside the city) is million times better!
Rizwana Good conclusions. But there are other lesosns that can be learned: 1) transferring the pics regularly to another media (laptop, external disc, uploading to internet, etc.) is important, you could have lost only one day of pictures or none; 2) loosing a laptop is more painful than the same issue with a camera, you lose a lot more info (not to mention money), so again doing a backup regularly could mitigate (or alleviate) the problem, that's why I always bring a light portable external drive with me and have a copy of stuff on both; it's good to have much of it as a backup back home, wherever it may be , too, just in case you lose both Uploading pictures of everything is too difficult I guess but doing it with selected pics would also serve as a backup of favorites and would provide your fans with a very fresh material. My two cents Giving advice is soooo much easier than following them by yourself. I wish I did all these backups, uploads, etc. Well, I do SOMETIME but not regularly and this should be like brushing your teeth Dad
