We had arranged to visit Kat in Singapore before Dan flew home, so to surprise her we arrived a day early on her doorstep to find she wasn't in! She eventually turned up and was very pleased to see us. She lives in an amazing condo with a rooftop terrace,2 swimming pools, a spa pool & a water gymnasium! We soon got our feet wet, we felt like we were on a 5 star holiday. Our first day there whilst kat was at work we went to a wet market to buy ingredients to make her dinner. It was so nice to actually be buying ingredients and having somewhere to cook for a change. We used our new culinary knowledge to prepare a feast that was very much appreciated.
On our second day we went on our own walking tour of Singapore! We went to Orchard road, the famous shopping street, little India, china town and ended up by the Marina (with sore feet) where we met kat for some drinks and hawker food.
The following day was Dan's last day, we spent the morning by the pool before escorting him onto his train to go to the airport. We said our sad goodbyes and waved him off. That night we went out for drinks with a couple of Kate friends on Clarke quay.
It was now the weekend so Kat was able to spend the day with us, we went to visit the school she works in, which was really modern and felt like a show school. We then went for a drink in holland park which is an area where a lot of expats live which also had a supermarket that sold real sausages! d*** has been craving these for a long time so kat cooked up an amazing and much missed bangers & mash!
Sunday was our last day of luxury, so we made the most of the pool in the morning, and then headed out to Arab street for some boutique window shopping followed by a really nice meal in a dim sum restaurant.
Thankyou kat for having us! And thanks Dan for a great fortnight! Xx
