Despite getting up early and giving ourselves plenty of time to get ready we still ended up rushing for the bus. We had to rush for the coach too once we got off the bus because the Banff buses are only every 40 minutes and the best one for us to catch this morning only gave us 15 minutes to make it to the Greyhound station and the coaches are only every 4-5 hours!! Anyway we made it to Canmore and before we even got off the bus I was beginning to regret it. It was like a ghost town! I was imagining a market town, really busy and quite arts & crafts based but it was tiny and hardly anywhere was open. We couldn't even find out much about the place because the tourist information centre was closed and we had a 5 hour wait until the next bus back to Banff!! Eventually we found a cafe and sat in there nursing a hot chocolate and a muffin for over an hour! It was 11am by the time we left the cafe and more of the shops had started opening. We had a wander round and found some lovely shops to have a look in. We also found a small gallery which we had a look around. There was a couple of museums too although we didn't go to those. We went on a walk along the river which was nice and sat and had lunch. We did manage to find things to do to fill our time until the bus came. I think you would need a car there to really make the most of the surrounding areas, or time to go up the mountains perhaps. Quite a sweet little place- we were glad to be out and about doing something, plus I didn't spend too much money which is always a good thing!

We saw a tornado! It was a small one but it suddenly appeared on the river bank and you could see it go all the way across the river and then up on the bank at the other side.

Oh! and we saw another STUG!! We had to go and ask the lady what it was. It's a french bulldog!!!! (Dan look it up!!) He was so lovely and loved a fuss. His name was Diesel :)

We caught the bus back, had a tea, a nap, and dinner! Need to get bits sorted as we have to check out of this room at 11am and then into another at 3pm.

There's another walk we're going to do tomorrow to The Vermilion Lakes, and then we're going to treat ourselves to Spaghetti Factory dinner! :)
