I cannot believe I'm in Canada in October and I'm walking around in a vest!! It was around 23 degrees today, possibly more and Kelly and I actually got burnt!
I didn't think I'd have much to write about today because we were heading back to Bow River but taking a different route to yesterday, but how wrong I was. Yesterday the route took us quite high up above the river and we couldn't see the actual falls very clearly but today we walked around the other side and were lower down. We got to walk along the river and see everything. It was so beautiful- where the water was hitting the rocks and the sun was reflecting off it you could see the colours of a rainbow, and further down, the river calmed and there were little areas that looked like beaches. Lots of people and families were around relaxing and playing, dogs were in and out of the water, it was all very peaceful. I could have sat there all day breathing in the fresh air and listening to the flowing river. Also because there wasn't a cloud in the sky all the colours of everything looked so much more vivid and clear. It was a really lovely day.
We've booked up some activities- we got 3 for one set price (individually it would have cost so much more) We'll be doing horse back riding which I'm so excited about as I've never been on a horse before! Also canoeing which again I've never done, and a trip on the Banff Gondola up to Sulpher Mountain so we should see some pretty amazing sights up there.
We've decided to extend our stay here as we've got a lot planned and don't want to be too knackered for when we move on. Also because Banff is beautiful and the hostel isn't badly priced (especially since we've become HI members)
We're getting up early tomorrow as we're heading to Lake Louise which I'm really excited about!
