This morning I packed my bags and was accompanied to the train staion by Corrine and Susan, which was a very nice sendoff from London, and I will be sure to miss them both a lot. I caught the Chunnel to Paris, which was a pretty uneventful journey. I spent most of it listening to my Ipod, or knitting, I think there were only four of us or so in the car, so it was a very quiet trip over. Once I got into Paris, I was confronted by a Bosnian whose father was apparently dead, and wanted money. I sensed this was going to be the general attitude of the station, so I caught a taxi to my hotel, rather than taking the metro. While London wasn't a culture shock, this certainly is, and it is the first time that I really miss home. I feel stupid speaking in English, only to get puzzled stares in return. The internet won't work, and all I've had to eat was the rest of my Harrod's chocolates, because everything here is apparently closed on Sundays. I have watched TV in German thus far, as there is only one English channel, where the content is on repeat every fifteen minutes. Once nice perk however was taking a long hot bath. So other than the fact that I am starving and lonely; this'll do. I have no clue what I'll get up to tomorrow.
