So, today I learned a variety of things, primarily that my French is awful. In comparison however, today was a far better day than yesterday, which was the first time that I had really cried since I left the airport in Calgary. Today, I started by hauling myself out of bed, and headed downstairs for some breakfast. I was starving, because I hadn't eaten in around a day or so. It wasn't anything spectacular, just juice, yourt, cereal, and runny eggs; which I didn't touch. After being sufficiently ripped off, I wasn't about to spend 8 euros to use to hotel's internet for a half an hour, so I headed down the street to the internet cafe, which smelt horribly of BO, and was filled with a bunch of geeks playing Everquest. Sadly, no one had sent me any e-mails, so I headed to the grocery store to pick up some fruit to stick in my mini fridge. I spent the majority of the rest of my day continuing to get my bearings, and watched some Sumo wrestling in German. I had a large pile of laundry sitting in my closet, so I walked to the laundromat, where a nice French woman, the first pleasant one I had met in fact; showed me how to pay. I finished off the evening with a nice meal at the place down the street, whose menu featured pickled gizzards. Gross.
