Hello everybody

What a week. It has not been the most enjoyable week i have spent in Vietnam but more on that later.

At the weekend Suzanne, Tristan, Mega and myself traveled to Da Nang. On Saturday we went to this place called Pizza Plus which is a cafe in Da Nang that employs predominantly deaf staff. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and the food is really really good. It is mainly only western food really because the owners are American but i didn't really mind that. After the meal we then went to Bamboo Bar which is just around the corner for a few drinks. We then went to a night club near by which was an amazing place. Many very good looking young girls with very bad looking older men. It was a good laugh seeing some of the Vietnamese dance moves!

For a few days i had been feeling pain on the side of my neck, i thought it just might be a bad bite or something so i just put some cream on it. But on Sunday morning i woke up and it had flared up into a large dark red patch. It was very painful and had appeared very quickly. I went to Da Nang hospital with some of the volunteers, going into the Hospital was like traveling back to the 1960's in more ways than one. Put it this way you could walk in directly from the street into the ward. I waited for about an hour, paid quite a bit of money and got seen by a doctor, he had no real idea what is was so he just gave me a number of tablets, Vitamin C and some other small tablets of which i have no clue what they are. But they seemed to have done the trick because the rash is now getting better.

I have been off work for a few days now because of this unidentified rash. I want to rid of it first before seeing or teaching any of the kids. Hopefully by tomorrow it should have healed.
