Hey people
Its the end of the month (almost) and its gone so fast i can hardly remember it all. Every volunteer except me is leaving Tam Ky placement this month, so Didi, Megan, Sofia, Eadaoin, Randall and Lorraine are off. I have really had a great month, i feel its gone alot better than the first month anyway.
At the weekend i went to Bach Ma national park which was amazing. It wasnt to hot either because its high in the mountains which was nice. The profile picture for this blog is taken at the park. I have also added a photo album to my blog from Bach Ma, so if you haven't seen it yet please take a look.
This week at baby orphanage we have been continuing the daily activities. Its good for the kids to have a bit of structure and have something to look forward to. During the last week of each month we take lunch once to the kids at the baby orphanage. I believe we took meat and noodle soup with yogurt for pudding. I also have some news about next month regarding the baby orphanage. I will be starting to teach some of the older kids English 3 times a week from next month. Its going to be a challenge but i cant wait to get going.
I did not go to Tam Thanh last week because the kids were all giving blood apparently. The kids in my class are aged between 12-16 and i couldn't not even imagine giving blood at that age. It weird but i suppose it is Vietnam i am in.
At home of affection my class is going good. The kids are really happy with the books now and are starting to learn a bit. I have had to go over a few things more than once but thats only really because they are very young. This week we also made dinner for the Home of Affection kids. I also have some news regarding Home of Affection next month. Because next month including myself there are only 4 volunteers at Tam Ky placement i will be teaching two classes at Home of Affection each week next month. I will be teaching my normal class plus Sofia's old class. Both classes are around the same age so it should not be to difficult.
This weekend is many volunteers from Tam Ky and Da Nang's last weekend in Vietnam so i am going to Hoi An with many of them to have a good time and relax a little bit. I have got on well with many of the volunteers this month so i will be sad to see many of them go. Some of them are Australian and Kiwi's so i will hopefully be seeing them again soon!
I hope everyone is good.
love
Ali
