Hi people, so the end of my second week of volunteering for GVN. I am happy to say that the second week went alot easier than the first. I found the teaching and just everything in generally alot easier to handle. I definitely feel more settled now.
This week i visited two programs i have not been to yet. The two programs were Hospital for Disable Children and Misa. The hospital for disabled children is a hard place to be. The children are all have mental, physical and cytological problems. To be honest in my view alot of the children have a very poor quality of life. GVN are trying to change that by interacting, massaging and carrying out physio on the children. The care they are given is not bad in Vietnam but it is still miles behind what care they would receive in a western country.
Misa is a private school in the centre of Tam Ky. The kids English is quite good so it is easy to communicate with them. There is also a teacher present to help you. We basically help with pronunciation and play games with the children.
This weekend i am off to Hoi An to chill out with paul who is leaving us on Monday. I will miss him because we have got on well and now i will be the only male in the house which will be very interesting lol. I should be fine though as i have manage just to live with my two sisters and mother for about 18 years... lol jks.
Anyway i would like to thank everyone for there messages and support. I miss you all loads.
