it has been a busy few days in the hospital. been great though! There have been student nurses in so i have been following them around and the nurses are kind enough to translate what they are teaching them into english for me. The student nurses are in their final year and are really sweet. they finally plucked up the courage to talk to me in english and took me round a corner away from all the other doctors and nurses to do so, as they were embarrased to try and speak english in front of them! bless them! they are so sweet and tried really hard with the language and did very well, but had difficulty understanding my english. I asked them how old they were, thinking they would be about 18 because they looked and acted really young, but they were all 23! you wouldnt believe it look at them giggling in a corner like shy little girls! but i really enjoyed spending time with them.
The etu has been sooooo busy over the past few days so i have had plenty of opportunity to observe things and even try out a few things. i now feel like i could take an ecg with my eyes closed!!
i am off now till next monday! i was going to go to Kandy with some other volunteers but i decided i couldnt face another 8 hour trip! instead i have booked myself into Ayuveric beach hotel for 3 nights where i am going to get some treatements. should be very nice indeed! its been a bit rainy round here recently but im hoping it will brighten up over the weekend so i can catch a few rays!
I am suprised at how fast time is going now that Jill has left. I thought that it would really be dragging during the week but i cant believe i have finished for my long weekend already! i have been doing a lot of reading and internet to keep me busy. i do miss our chats though!
Anyway im going to go and research peptic ulcers now, as i am convinced i have one!
