G'day Mate, it's Trudy here, all the way in the UK. Crikey! it was hotter than the red centre today. Like a steaming pile of cow dung out in the sun. haha
Last night Barnaby and Emma slept out in a tent and it was very hot and sunny today so this morning I thought they must have been sweating once the sun came up.
It still took ages for everyone to get up, including me and Alex, which was good, cause we actually got up at 7.30 today, instead of 5.
After breakfast and a cupo of tea, we took two cars to a wildlife area nearby with a massive lake.
We started of with a nice stroll around the lake, there was a lot of people walking dogs.
Half way around we were close to a road an a river adjacent, which was like a little marina, it had all these small fishing boats lined up for quite a length of the irver.
Because of all the water traffic, there was a lock on this river, and we saw this small boat using it to get from the dammed top part of the river to the lower part, which Alex and I had never seen, so it was kinda cool.
Soon we all went on walking, but Alex and kept getting left behind because we were taking so many photos of everything. We saw white swans and lots of pretty landscapes and flowers. Alex tried his best to do a David Attenborough/ Bear Grylles impersonation with the swan, but it was pretty bad. We also saw some Corgi’s which Alex thought were really cute. They were so adorable.
After we had walked all the way around the lake, which was a good 2miles, we had drinks at the pub where we had parked our cars. We sat outside, and due to all the sun I got a sunburn on my shoulders and upper arms.
When we got home, we had lunch which was the left over curry and salad from the night before.
Emma, Barnaby, Dickon and Orla left to go to their homes. Barnaby will be back in a couple days.
Once they all had gone Alex and I went into the garden and were photographing everything.
Our exercise today was a good bike ride out of the village of Raunds around some dirt roads, and some grass tracks, to some place we had no idea where we were, but got home.
Riding the bikes was fun. There was lots of other people out exercising and walking dogs. I don't think it would be easy to find a place where you wouldn't see someone else, funny story, we could of gone through a gate to see another lake are, but we were too dumb to open the lock which we thought was locked.
David and Verity have a few bonsai trees and we were discussing for quit a while after our ride, over a cup of tea. I also trimmed one abit.
I would love to take it up when I get back. It could be my pet while I’m at uni. They take years until they look great though.
After me and Alex were practising the ancient art of martial arts on each other in the garden, we went to prepare dinner.
Duck noodle soup today, quite tasty.
Now its time to pack up our things, as we are travelling to Oxford tomorrow, for the day before we travel down to Swannage in the evening.
Goodnight
