6th August
This morning was great as still recovering from jet lag allowed me to awake perfectly frustrated at 4.55am. FANTASTIC!
Anyway after waiting for about a half hour for sleepy head (Trudy) to return from her mini state of hibernation, we had breakfast and then decided to go for a walk.
So we took some pictures of the local cathedral, some weird street signs, some of the little stone walls you see all over the place, and a little grey squirrel, or tree rat as they call it here.
There was also a couple pigeons trying to produce offspring, but I dont think one of them was too keen. hahaha
Anyway, once we got back to the house, Verity was up so we had a cup of tea, Haha and talked for a while.
Late morning we went for a drive to some very small villages around the place.
I went inside a red phone box which was like the greatest thing that has ever happened to me in my LIFE!!! ...jk
Anyway, yeah, we went to a place called Hargrave, and saw a chapel, and this old pub that was massive, and had a really nice thatched roof...something else you see here a lot, especially around where I am at the moment.
Then we went to a small town called Kimbolton, that had this hugely big castle/ palace looking place, that turned out to be a private high school.
We also saw a cathedral here, they all seem to be very similar in design and the stuff they are built from...stone.
The funniest thing though is these really tiny coloured houses, all in a row and same shape and size, they totally all look like real size barbie houses, which is pretty cool.
We stopped to have a cuppa here again.....i seem to be doing that quite often here, having a cup of tea..ha
After travelling through some more beautiful country side, seeing the wide green meadows, and the fields of wheat, also one thing I noticed is that no matter where you are, there will be a hedge of some sort on either side of the road.
Anyway/....we finally made our way to the town of St. Neots, it was a really busy place, plenty of people and traffic down the main street, which was a bit different I guess.
So we had lunch at a pub next to this river. The food was pretty average, and the barmaid was an old cow. Truly the rudest person you've ever seen, and the waiter was pretty bad himself. Anyway...so after the fabulous lunch we had..lol, we travelled back to Raunds.
And had another cup of tea...hahahahahaha. Its not that funny, but I usually dont drink tea at all.
After looking through some maps of London, and others of England, it ended up time for dinner.... Bangers and Mash.
Actually it was salad not mash.
hopefully I can sleep well tonight....until a reasonable hour in the morning at least I hope.
BYE..
