This morning we woke up at 5 again, which was apin, but mangaed to get back to sleep until around 7.
I had a banana and honey tst sandwich for breakfast...haha cause everyone neede to know that.
So we spent some of the morning, looking at some maps, and some different places to see and do.
We left around 10.30, and made our way to this small village called Bliston, where we were going to go to a Canal mueseum, but lucily enough, there was a festival going on.
Saw heaps opf narrow boats. which are 6ft 11in wide, and 70ft long.
met some yokels that live on the boats all there lives, which is quite unbelieveable, cause they manage to raise 3 kids, in a living area the size of my pantry at home.
After experiencing what the inhabitants of the canals had to offer, from souvenirs, to cheese and paintings, we had a little walk through the village, loooking at all the architecture and buildings, went into an old church which was nice.
We had lunch in Towcester, pronounced Toaster just so you know, at a little pub called The Plough. Had a rather large Gammon steak and chips.
The rain finally started to come dowqn a bit when we finished, but not that bad.
In the afternoon, we drove once again, after getting lost from taking multiple wrong highways, to a town called Kettering, which we saw one of the Elanor cross monuments, which is quite cool, seeing as there is only 3 left of the 12 that were originally in England.
(If u dont know what they are, GOOGLE)
Also in Kettering was the grand Boughton House, which from the outside, looked like a posh residence for rich people......and when we went inside, it was exactly that.
Pretty amazing though, the size of a place like that, probably about 10,000 bedrooms and baths, but what amazed me was the amount of Portraits they had in each room of all the family members.
This house was built late 1500, and still had massive tapestrys, that were from the vatican, all the rooves were painted spectacularly, all the origional furniture, a room full of weapons and just all this old crap, that was really interesting to look at, and hear about some English history, as before then, i pretty much knew nothing.
Blah blah blah......
When we got home, Verity's other son Dickon, and wife Orla arrived, to spend some time here.
So in this littel town house, we had Trudy and I, Verity and Daivd, Barnaby and Emma, and Dickon and Orla.
Had a great dinner, loads of curry, and indian..and just had a great time talking about stuff, and hearing old stories.
One thing i keep realising about england, is that the people here keep saying how bad of a country it is. hahaha im just prejudice towards aus..
But seriously, the lifestyle of english people has amazed me so far how much different it is compared to the people in Australia, the way we act, the placews we live, i mean those people on the narrow boats really had the minimum, and if your wife was fat, you'd be sitting on the tiny sofa for your entire life..lol
Yeah but thats here in this small town, i cant wait to see what London is really like.
