24/10 Arrived in Rotorua, not impressed with the hostel! It's more like a cheap holiday chalet the sheets were questionable and you didnt dare go in the bathroom without your flipflops! Plus you had to go and ask reception for your cutlery and plate tray everytime you wanted to use something felt like a throwback to school! Still Rotorua quite a nice place except for the foul smell of rotton eggs due to the Sulphar in the air. We went Zorbing which is soooooooooooo much fun. Imagine a gigantic inflatable hamster ball, put Kate and Alex inside, fill it with warm water and roll it down the hill! We could not stop laughing and screaming all the way down, you try to run but it takes you out and you end up rolling all around and totally drenched! The guy gave us a free go too.. think it was due to all the noise we made! Excellent!!
Also went to the Polynesian spa for a soak in the thermal pools. Must of been pension day due to the high number of old bids doing their hydrotherapy! Got a few frowns as we stepped out in the bikinis! Very nice and relaxing and did a few lengths but god it stank! We reaked of sulphar for days! Also gave Alex really bad headaches bless her so the majority of our time in Rotorua was spent in the pharmacy!- Kate also needed exzcma cream, imodium, sealegs aswell as Alex having to invest in some 'fibre' tablets! we're fine mind really!!! Think our second homes will be at the docs when we're home!
Finally heading back to Auckland (via 1 night in Mount Monganui which is just not worth mentioning!) Stayed with Andrea and Andrew. Andrea worked with Alex at the copshop. They have a lovely home and made us so welcome so BIG THANKYOU to them!!! Andrea- you must visit when you're next in the UK!! xxxx
Fiji tomorrow-yeah we can finally move the map!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
