Well this is it. My last blog entry from New Zealand. I am really really sad to be leaving. But who knows what the future holds..I could be back here sooner than I think!
New Zealand is an amazing country. The people are all really friendly, I love the accents! The scenery is absolutely incredible. I have seen hills, mountains, volcanoes, oceans, beaches, lakes, rivers, rainforest, farm land and so much more. I rarely slept on the bus cause there was always so much to see. I have went on walks through forests and along trails that were so beautiful. That seems to be the only word I can think of that describes this country. The night sky is breathtaking. i have never seen so many stars, constellations and even the milky way!
I have jumped out of a plane, off a bridge, into a canyon, off a gondola. Gone Blackwater rafting and saw glow worms. Gone on a jet boat thru a giant hole in a rock, jet boated on a river. Went horseback riding along the beach and up into the hills. Been one of the first to see the light of a new day. Carved a necklace out of paua shells. Seen seals, dolphins, a penguin and heaps of sheep! Sheared a sheep, feed a sheep and been surrounded by pigs at a hostel I stayed at. Just to name a few things i have done!
I have met friends that I hope I will have for life and that I hope to visit in the future. People from all over the world. I have learnt a few words from many different languages and shared stories of what it's like to live in Canada. Everyone seems to think there are bears everywhere and always ask if we stay in the house when it gets really cold or if we wear layers and layers layers of clothes to go outside.
It has been such a great experience! There are only 2 months left to go. Fiji then Australia. I can't wait! There will be more photos, more memories and more friendships made. And I hope there will only be ups with few downs. I have learnt a ton on my trip and I feel like I have grown alot. I ate breakfast in a restaurant by myself for the first time and didn't mind it at all!
In an hour, I will be lugging my bag 5 blocks down to the bus station to catch one up to the airport hostel. I tried to get rid of some stuff but it's still pretty heavy. I can do it though! I am stronger than I have ever been before. Both inside and out.
I can't help but smile when i think of the past month and a half. I feel like the luckiest girl alive!
