My first weekend in Shenyang flew by. I can not believe that it's Monday already!!
I had been looking forward to hitting the town on friday night, but unfortunately I needed to go and register my presence at the police station at 8.30 the next morning so ended up spending the friday night in (how unlike me does that sound??).
The police station was so random and nothing really seem to get sorted. They now have our passports and should be sorting out registering us. I was meant to be registered here with in 10 days for me arriving it's now been 9 days. I guys if I get stopped by the police on the street I may have to lie :-S
Over the weekend Serena and I went exploring. We found a western part of Shenyang that has a shop called Talk Bread and sells something resembling bread with cheese on (it was so exciting), we found the biggest market that you have ever seen and we also found a catholic church (we maybe going there for Christmas if we're not going skiing).
On Sunday we bought bikes and managed to find our way home from Shenyang. We started to explore our local area and we have now found a small super market and some restaurants near by. There's also a swimming pool on one of the other campus's that we are going to ask if we can use.
The weather has been rainy and Sunday was so cold that we actually wore our winter coats.
Classes have been bad so far today. I actually had to tell my senior class off and threaten to split up some of the boys. It felt really really weird being the strict teacher!!
