Last day
This week has been an experience. Think I was lead into a false sense of security on Monday when Stu got back at 4:30pm thinking it was going to be like that all week.
Had a good day on Tuesday just looking round the town getting my barings doing a bit of shopping for dinner. Made a vegetable soup which I was quite pleased with ready to heat up for when stu got back, and walked the dogs for about 4 hours till they were tired. It's a funny little town bit has everything you need. A few large supermarkets, a DIY shop that's bigger than your average Tesco extra, spritz shop, pet shop and then all the little independents. Cute little book shop and and stationary. It has a little stream that runs through it that you can follow to the forest then into Frankfurt.
Had a call at 6:30 saying "still at the job won't be back till 8:30pm". Wow that was long. What to do for 3 hours waiting. Still not sure what I did really, watched a few climbing DVDs. Eventually they got back had dinner and in bed by 9:30pm. Not too much interaction with people today.
Over the next few days I brought myself an English/german dictionary, and started to see familiar faces even just to say hello to makes quite a big difference. I made some nice meals and before long it was nearly the end of the week. Walked down to watch everyone work for a few hours which was good.
I finally gave in and brought myself some panniers for my bike which are excellent.
So come Friday was expecting to head down to half way from Frankfurt to St Anton but by 5pm and still no stu that was never going to happen. Especially as the bike rack that had already taken stu a few hours to attach and me a few hours to build was not together yet.
First thing in the morning 6am washing picked up from flat bike rack on and off we left well only to the pet shop and outdoor shop down the road to get a few things. 9:30 and we are on our way.
Really looking forward to see dad and a little break.
