Today is a full day at sea before we arrive at the great barrier reef. We are actually sailing along it at the moment but not close enough to see it. This morning we saw the Oriana our sister ship. She sailed past us about 100m away, quite impressive as we were the only two things visible in the ocean at the time. There was lots of horns sounding and 2000 people waving from
Each ship. It's amazing with that many people that the ship Is not crowded, but it's not, often you are alone in areas it's really peaceful.
Last night we went to the show and it was David Copperfield - no not the magician which is what I had hoped for but the comedian - well it is fair to say he was poor he spent more time singing than telling jokes and perhaps that was just as well. Oh yeah he couldn't sing either. It ended up being a laugh in its own way. Dinner is good we are getting to know Keith Joyce Barbra and Frank more each night and we are nearly the last to leave the restaurant each night. The other two failed to appear last night not sure why. Could be either her appetite for food or his for alcohol, not sure which ..... I'll keep you informed.
As I write this blog we are passing the Whitsunday islands it is 29 degrees and sunny, I say this not to brag but so as we don't forget these moments in life they are special and make up for all the tough days.
Tomorrow we are snorkelling in the great barrier reef. Plenty of opportunity for things to go wrong; bit hopefully they won't.
Tonight is our first full dinner suit evening. So I need to spend time learning how to do my bow tie, a skill recently acquired and even more recently forgotten. We are both looking forward to dressing up And we have been invited to. A cocktail party with the captain tonight ....... Only 1/2 hour before dinner but should be nice. Wendy has warned me no. Jokes about Italian captains are allowed.
