We arrived at the ACI marina in Jezera mid afternoon. Cheryl did a great job sailing up the Krka river, and out of the bay. But as soon as Brian mentioned 'rocks" she downed tools and handed command back to him. We arrived mid afternoon. It was an uneventful trip, just admiring the scenery along the way. Fortunately we never did find any rocks. Berthing the yacht was again a great team effort, The marina is excellent, all the toilets and showers were new.
Jezera (Thanks to wikipaedia)is a town and a port on the north-east side of the island of Murter, connected to the Adriatic tourist road through the town of Tisno. It is the smallest town on Murter which was named after large ponds caused by rains during autumn and winter, which creates an impression of a real lake. "Lakes" disappear with the first rays of the spring sun. The place is located in the eponymous cove protected from the winds and waves. The first written monument of the Lakes dates back to year 1298, but the town is much older than that because two tombs of the Illyrian tribe Liburn were found in 1938 in Podjasenovac cove.
The girls did a walk into town to check it out and look for a supermarket. The town itself is very much like all the other places we have visited in Croatia. Pitcuresque, clean & tidy, and under going major changes. All the old buildings are being lovingly restored with more modern materials, but not losing any of their quintessential past.
The theme of all these villages are their restaurants that line the marina's.
We all went out for a drink at 7pm at one of the bars lining the waterfront. The girls decided to try a Pina Colada, they were impressed. Brian and I just stuck to our draft beers, which at AUD$7 is reasonably priced for 1/2 a litre. There was a band setting up in the town square, testing their equipment, readying themselves for a gig a bit later in the night. The music was very good.
By about 8pm we relocated one of the restaurants across the road and settled down for a meal. I had fried calamari, Cheryl grilled calamari and Dianne and Brian Cordon Blue. The meals were first class and very reasonably priced.
When we left the restaurant, the band was cranking up. By the time we got back to the boat and had our showers, the music & light show were in full flight. Our photo's do not do the event justice.
Our plan was to leave tomorrow, and do a trip to a town around the other side of the island. We will be going the long way, because we have plenty of time, and we simply want to see as much as we can.
