Our final day in chiang mai was a pretty relaxed one. We went up to chiang mai zoo where we saw pandas, white tigers and elephants among lots of other animals. We were a little worried as not all of them were as taken care of as you would expect in the west but in such a poor country what could you expect. We then fitted in a quick manicure and lunch before heading off to the train station for a long journey. The following day we had time to kill in Bangkok so what did we do? We headed to the MBK shopping mall which was 9 floors of restaurants, stalls, shops, a cinema and bowling. With lots of time to kill but exhausted from our journey we headed to the cinema and saw the new batman film, but a new experience as VIP (£5) included reclining seats, free cocktail and a blanket to keep you warm!

Once the film finished it was time for a quick bite to eat then off to get the over night bus/boat combo to Ko Samui.

Finally we arrived at our hotel on the island 11am on 24th after leaving chiang mai at 5pm on 22nd!
