Greetings people across the equator,
Salar De Uyuni tour has begun. We woke up in small and crowdy train hotel. We ate our breakfast at the hotel. Our tour begun once we all spilt into three groups. One jeep vehicle per group. We were on way to our first destination of the day, Great Train Graveyard was it. Till the near the end of the 19th century, trains were used to transport the minerals. During 1940's the mining industry collapse, partly because of minerals depletion, many trains were abandoned outside of Uyuni. Many pieces of metal and scraps of the trains were stolen by the people. We took a lot of pictures like always.
Eventually, we were on way to Colchani. The village is considered as one of most important due to salt manufacturing. The factory has the capacity to extract 20 tons of salt per year. Ninety percent of the salt is for human consumption. There are also different kind purposes of the salt including salt bath, salt food, salt shampoo and many more. After doing some salt shopping, we were on our way.
We were on our way to Ojos de Aqua Salada, it is a hotel complete made of salt. Unfortunately, it has became a museum and restaurant due to safety reasons. After that, we went to middle of nowhere to take lots of outstanding pictures and videos. We also had our picnic in middle of nowhere in Uyuni. We spent our time at the area for good two hours. Eventually, we finally left the place.
We were on bumpy road for more than four hours. After that entire long ride we stopped at another middle of nowhere to view the gorgeous sunset. We also drank apple juice and ate Lays chips. After million of pictures, we were on way to our hostel. Once we loaded our stuff in our rooms, we had our dinner in the warm hostel. Ding! Ding! Off to sleep, we all went.
Good Night,
~ Taran
