Hola readers,
Today, we started off the day by going out to eat the Bolivia's famous breakfast, saltenas. There are two different types of meat, beef and chicken. But that is not all, there are also vegetables along with the meats' juicy flavor. The taste was very interesting and I couldn't eat it all, so couple of students and I went to a bakery to get bread with cheese on the top. It's called Pan, it was so delicious; Ashlene and I ended up eating two and half bread, so of course we couldn't help to not resist eating more Pan.
Then we went to deaf school, CEFERE and it was in middle of street market. The first thing they did was a pledge, it was very interesting and it's longer than the United States' pledge of allegiance. We gave them candies and I loved the kids' face expression with the biggest smile on their faces. Their talks were super cute and very curious about the things on us like jewelries, clothes, backpack, and GoPro. CEFERE is one of the largest deaf schools in La Paz.
After we visiting deaf school, we went to a deaf club, Asor Paz. Liss, the presenter, were so curious about the history of Gallaudet. So, Wilmonda, as American School for the Deaf alumni, explained the history of Gallaudet. The most interesting fact that I have ever heard in my entire life is that American Sign Language is not an official language in America and never has been even for two hundred years; we are still fighting to make it official language. It is really sad, right but mostly important, we ain't giving up. Also, we explained them about TSD's background, programs, sports, education, and the importance is to support everyone. The people at deaf club were so nice because they literally gave us a lot of gifts.
Lastly, we went to a deaf-owned pizza restaurant that has been running for 2 years now. The deaf owner has been cooking for six years. We ordered four different types of pizza which were the following: meat-lover, Hawaiian, cheese, and pepperoni. Our minds literally exploded and were definitely impressed with the pizzas. We all mostly ate three to four slices, because of course, we are pizza lovers!!

Claire Bugen Hello All, sounds like fun. Remember the US does not recognize ANY language as its official language. Most states do, however, recognize ASL as a foreign language. Bet those Deaf Pizza owners would like to visit Mozzeria in California.
