Hey Americans,
Rings and rings! We started off our morning by eating the breakfast. The breakfast contains some kind of "cinnamon rolls", bread, saltenas (empanadas), and fried eggs. Then we made the rings right after we finished the breakfast. The ring were originally made of nuts, guide men will cut it then "carve" inside to made it a circle. Then the guide man will teach us to how polish the ring. We polished the ring by sprinkling the dirt and ashes on our hands and let it stick on our hands. The ring must be rubbed hard to notice the smooth and sharp looks. Many of us struggled with it, so we occasionally asked the guide men to help us. We ended up with different ring sizes and colors. It was fun for us to learn something new and to make it ourselves!
Time for lunch! We ate our final meal in the Madidi Jungle. The lunch was french fries (using yucca) with diced seasoned beef and chicken. It's similar to fajitas just but just that the tortillas were replaced with french fries. It was good. The lunch was enjoyable for each one of us. We had very funny conversation and kept chatting. I believe we chatted more than we ate. Oops.
Boat time! After we spent our amazing 3 days and 2 nights at the Madidi Jungle, it was time to go back to La Paz. We spent the 2-3 hours on boating back to the city. In middle of trip, the rain poured so hard that we got completely soaked even though we had the raincoat on and a tarp on the top of the boat. Luckily, the rain only lasted less than 3 minutes. We got off of the boat to get our backpacks back. Then we went for a drive; probably 15 minutes drive to the airport. We flew for 40 minutes. When we arrived and got out the plane, we actually forgot what cold weather felt like. We felt like we are in Alaska. It's good to be back in La Paz.
Dinnertime. We got in the van to bring us to Burger King for our dinner. Unfortunately, we were stuck in traffic for 1 hour and 45 minutes before we finally arrived there. We ate like we haven't eaten for last 24 hours. We got our belly filled up. Ahh. We finally arrived at the hotel. It was very fancy hotel. We definitely deserved it from staying 3 days in the rainforest and suffering with the thousands of bugs bites plus no electricity. We finally can relax here and especially get a night worth of good sleep for long day tomorrow! Good night.
