Jason took over the last leg and we were both VERY tired of being at the car after 22 hours of straight driving. These were the best campsites of the entire trip, and they were only $10 per night. We stayed in Blanchard Springs Caverns campground. They had running water, showers, flush toilets, raised platforms, individual charcoal grills, firepits, and picnic tables. Pretty much the bomb diggity.
I made dinner and we drank two bottles of what Jason deems the b****** child of wine which is a wine makers blend. After a very relaxing, non driving evening we headed to bed. Just as Barry White was about to hit the bridge we heard a 'pop' from just outisde the tent door. It was the destinct sound of the tupperware cookset which was on the picnic table. The music came to a hault as I opened the tent door blasting my head lamp in the direction of the noise to find two masked bandids trying to steal my marshmellows. Giant racoons apparently know their way around this campsite. I threw handfulls of pebbles at the bandits while Jason franticly looked for his pants in the dark. Alas the bandits ran away and Jason put everything in the car.
