Trish and I woke up at 630 am this morning which is pretty good considering the 12 hour time change. I think we are about fully adjusted in just one the day. We woke up to a very cloudy morning but by the time we went to breakfast, it was beautiful out. The temps here are pretty steady. About 80 degrees in the morning warming up to 90 during the day. Breakfast was great. The views from Lantania (the restaurant in top of the cliff here at the four seasons) were spectacular as was the food. When we were seated, they offered us fresh watermelon juice right away. It actually blew me away. Delicious. There were several Thai dishes offered for breakfast, but i wasnt in the mood for fried rice, so i went with the eggs florentine with a coconut yogurt on the side. I also tried some fruit that i cannot pronounce or spell, but they were interesting and good. The service again was impeccable. The people here seem to be very gentle and extremely nice. I don't know yet if it's because I'm staying at the four seasons, but I have a feeling it is more cultural.
After breakfast we got ready for the beach. We called the buggy and it came to the room to cart us down since our room is on a cliff. What a beautiful beach day. Mostly sunny. Water temps in the mid to upper 70s. The turquoise blue water reminds me of Turks and Caicos, the sand reminds me of the gulf coast, and the lush tropical jungles and cliffs remind me of costa rica, except all in one makes for a truly spectacular beach.
We had a really nice beach day. A lot of nothing but it was so relaxing. We did go kayaking for about an hour and did some exploring which was fun. The water was like a lake since were in the gulf of Siam, but our location is also in a cove making the water very calm.
After kayaking we ordered lunch. Trish ordered a grilled calamari salad, which was good and very spicy. I have also realized that Thai spice is not what we think is spicy. They definitely kick it up a notch. I ordered a whole steamed sea bass, which they deboned. It had a very light sauce of garlic, cilantro, lemongrass and lots of lime. Lunch was followed by shoulder rubs on the beach, some hammock time, and a last dip in the ocean. Tonight were venturing out to a restaurant, five islands, on the west coast. It's known for it's authentic Thai local cuisine, views of the five neighboring islands, and unbelievable sunsets. I'll let you know if it lives up to it's reputation.
Pregaming with afrojack right now. We will check in tomorrow. After a couple days of maxin and relaxin, tomorrow we've got some tours and exploring in our plans!
