Thai word of the day. Sabai dee Mai = how are you? The hotel is sharing their fair share of culture so figured we 'd spread the wealth! Woke up at 5:30am this morning which isn't so bad given the jet lag and 12 hr time difference. I am sitting on our lounge bed on our deck while Rick takes a plunge in the plunge pool. It's already super humid here and at least 80 degrees. Cute hair days are not in my future.
The Bounty of Thailand party was awesome last night. They served all traditional Thai cuisine from currys, soups, fish, meats, rices, noodles, fresh fish, fruits, deserts, etc. Etc. It was unbelievably good. They had traditional Thai entertainment with Thai dancing and men on bongos and other traditional Thai musical instruments. At the end of the night they let paper lanterns loose into the sky night which signifies something but can't share what as the translation didn't come through. There is a little bit more of a language barrier than we were both originally thinking. But everyone is so nice and friendly. It was so much fun and a really memorable experience.
Highlight for Rick was that he can get cubans here for $10. I think he has died and gone to heaven.
At the end of the night our buggy (Thai term for golf cart) picked us up and took us home to our oasis.
Now what to do today...figuring that out now. More soon!
