I'm typing this from a propeller (gulp) plane heading from Bangkok to Koh Samui right now. Our flight from LA to Bangkok wasn't so bad after all. Thai Airways really knows how to fly and we were very comfortable in business class. We had full lay down beds, warm towels when we sat down, and a four course meal the minute we got in the air. We ended up staying up until 4am to enjoy the good eats and then passed out with full bellies. I slept the next 11 hours!! Rick didn't sleep as much but enjoyed his movies (thor and Kung Fu panda two) There was a little bit of turbulence during the flight but nothing too terrible. We arrived an hour early in Bangkok this am. Customs was a breeze and we had plenty of time to investigate the airport before our next flight. Rick is really taking FULL advantage of all the benefits of first class and has been sampling treats in every star alliance lounge and enjoying meals on every flight. I've also been told never to turn down an offer for free food, quickly learning my lesson after declining an offer for pinafores on our last flight:). My hubby loves his treats.
Next stop Koh Samui! I will be relieved to get off of this 1974 death trap and off to paradise. Will write when we settle in at the four seasons!!

Dad Always reassuring for Dad to hear that his daughter and new son-in-law are flying in a 1974 prop "death trap" over 8000 miles from home. Didn't anyone over there tell them that the Vietnam War is over and they can fly more modern planes now? Have fun/be safe. Love and miss you both already.
