Well folks the photo says it all, Trent was very pleased with his 15kg jewfish that he caught on the fishing charter, dad and Jamie were also lucky enough to catch a big jewfish each, all of them had aching shoulders in the morning, but it didn't effect their drinking arm.
We have been very busy in Darwin, we first went to Leanyer water park that now has 3 very large water slides, however the pool and water play area were closed for maintenance. We did have good fun on the water slides, Lachlan even convinced nana to go on the double pitch black tube ride with him, she was laughing when she finished so I guess she had fun.
A visit to the wave pool was next on the list this was great fun bobbing around in the rough choppy water on a boogie board or blow up ring, if you were lucky enough you could catch a few waves into the shore. However I do know one thing and that is we were well and truly worn out by the end of the day, so I hope this is having an effect on our fitness, because the afternoon nibbles and frequent ice creams is probably not.
The markets are great, with lots of different food to try, an excellent fire juggling man, the most amazing digeridoo player, he could play 4 digeridoos at once. We have also been to the Darwin museum and saw sweetheart the 5.1m preserved body of a saltwater croc that terrorised a near billabonga in Darwin in the late 70's. We have been to Doctor's gully to see the fish being fed, those fish must get sick of bread everyday, but by the way they ate it maybe not.
Crocasaurus cove was really interesting, of course they fed the large crocs, kids got to hold a small one and use a fishing rod to feed the little guys, which they really enjoyed, they also held a snake and a few lizards, a good day was had by all.
Finally tonight we had a beautiful fish and chips on Stokes hill wharf where you can also watch the bat fish come to eat your left over hot chips, these fish have strange diets around here.
Trent arrived a little later than the rest of us as he was sorting things out in the van and I had gone with Justine earlier to the wharf. My trusty little washing machine has been excellent doing several loads a day especially with mum and Jussy's stuff, Trent kindly offered to hang the washing out before tea tonight, he was a little surprised hanging out what he thought were old dusting rags, when he realised he was hanging out his brother-in-laws very worn out jokes. This did give us a good laugh and I am wondering if this is a common thing to do between brother-in-laws.
Off towards Kakadu next via Berry springs until next time cheers.
