Well howdy, family and friends we have made it to Darwin, which is just lovely a gorgeous 28- 30 degrees each day and about 20 o/night. It has been a week since we have had any phone or internet coverage, but now we are in Darwin we can catch up on some emails, phone calls and shopping. At last entry we left Mataranka hot springs to drive about 150 km to Douglas hot springs, another beautiful place. This was so nice we stayed in the camp ground for 3 nights, the water is about 32 ish degrees, but has patches of very hot and cold water. I think we stayed in there for a few hours one day and the boys went back at night to soak in the springs and watch the stars. I tell you this is such a hard life, we are becoming quite exhausted, even Lyla loved splashing around the water.
The guys tried their luck at fishing and guess what they caught, yep you guessed it diddly squat, but they had fun. Next stop was Litchfield National park, we arrived on the saturday of the queen's birthday long weekend, the caravan park was quite empty thankfully as the rockholes and campgrounds were packed. We expected to have all sorts of trouble finding a spot as the friday night at Douglas hot springs just got busier and busier until there was hardly any room between camps and we were glad to be leaving. Surprisingly the little CV park we found was no problems and we caught up with some people we first met in King's canyon (Emma & Gavin) which was great as the kids get on quite well.
We visited the usual at Litchfield, termite mounds, Lost city, Wangi & Florence falls and had a refreshing but much cooler swim at Buley rock hole along with about 50,000 other people. It really is a lovely place, there was a local cafe for sale and we half considered buying it but only for a fleeting half hour and that was at happy hour, so not very likely at all.
Well that's all for now will fill you in Darwin adventures a little later.
