Well what can we say another great few days has been spent at King's canyon. We ventured up the 500 or so steps and along the 6 km path of the King's canyon rim walk, although our hearts were pounding after all those steps, it was worth it as the views are spectacular. Lyla again had a great ride and slept at least half the way, Lachlan did not complain a bit as there were plenty of rocks to jump and climb over. The caravan parks have all been very nice and we keep meeting up with the same people as we are all going the same way.
If you look at the photo of Lachlan lying down looking over the edge of the cliff, this made me feel quite ill, as it was a shear drop straight down with only rocks and trees at the bottom. Tell me all you mums out there am I being paranoid or is this normal motherly reaction to continually keep saying not too close, stand back from the edge, be careful? I know I got sick of listening to my own voice, which is probably why Lachlan kept rolling his eyes every time I spoke.
We are in the Alice now at a beautiful C V Park, that gave everyone free (absolutely delicious) pancakes for breakfast on sunday morning. We have lost our son to the giant jumping pillow directly opposite our van, he was gone for nearly 4 hours straight and hears jumping sounds at night even though it is flat. I had a go at when it was empty and was b*****ed after about 15 mins, however girls, I do suggest an investment in Tena lady anything beyond this length of time.
I have been inducted into the master chief category as I made cheese and herb scones in the eco pot today, which were fantastic, Lachlan said they were better than the one's at the coffee shop. (of course I knew that anyway)
Lyla is on the move and eating dirt and grass if possible, so a play pen will need to be purchased asap.
We love reading all your messages, so keep them coming and although replying to each one would be nice, it's unlikely to happen, but please don't stop sending them.
