Through the gateway of feeling your weakness lies your strength;
Through the gateway of feeling your pain lies your pleasure and joy;
Through the gateway of feeling your fear lies your security and safety;
Through the gateway of feeling your loneliness lies your capacity to
have fulfillment, love and companionship;
Through the gateway of feeling your hate lies your capacity to love;
Through the gateway of feeling your hopelessness lies true and
justified hope;
Through the gateway of accepting the lacks of your childhood lies your
fulfillment now.
In giving ourselves permission to feel all of our feelings, we free ourselves from the tyranny of our defenses and open ourselves to our hear's desires. That is true healing.
Pathway Lecture 191
*********************************************
Another 6am rise and a leisurely breakfast at the albergue before hitting the road at 07:30. I walked today with Anny Sandra. The first half of the walk was through interesting country side. Colourful fields of golden barley, green wheat and what looked like almost black hay. The morning was perfect for walking, cool with a very slight breeze. We walked till lunch time and covered about 20 km. After a good rest we set off to walk the final 8 km for the day. By now the day had got very hot, the pathway stretches out ahead of us as far as the eye can see. I walk in silence, at first focussing in the road ahead, looking for some land mark which I could aim for. But there was nothing there to focus on. Walking became very difficult as the sun was at its highest. I soon began to focus on my steps and then my breathing. Slowly one step at a time, one breath at a time. And that became my mantra for almost the next 2 hours. And then in the distant haze I could see a church steeple, I stopped and looked back to from where I came. I realised that dispute the difficulty of todays walk, once I do it step by step, slowly by slowly I will accomplish I will achieve my goal.
I enjoyed an evening of chat outside the albergue bar in the company of Americans, Canadians, French, German and Italian. Son it was bed time!!!
Buen Camino
