Day 83: Wet n Wild
Today we spent a big day at Wet n Wild and now we are completely exhausted. Unfortunately though we were a little disappointed with the venue.
I pre-purchased a VIP gold pass that enables us to enter Wet n Wild aswell as Movie World and Sea World which I also thought would enable us to get through the gates faster. I was wrong! There was no separation of queues and due to the fact we needed to get our photo taken for the pass, the queue took forever.
Once in we proceeded firstly to secure a locker, only to have to queue again and this time we were lucky enough to queue behind the most time consuming people ever.
With locker secured we headed straight for a ride, and guess what? Another queue. The day was completely consumed with lining up for things. We wouldn't have minded if all rides were operating at full capacity but it seemed they had 50% of the rides shut down. Darren and Brandon queued to ride 'the black hole' which had a sign at the beginning of the queue that it was a 30min wait from this point, thanks to only one slide operating they were on the ride an hour later.
I could continue complaining but I will conserve my energy for our trip to Movie World tomorrow. I will say this, give me Jamberoo any day!
The kids had a great day, they got frustrated with having to line up for so long, but they are kids and a 5 minute queue would have been too long for them.
There was only 1 ride that Brandon couldn't go on that the other kids could, the tornado. I took Micaela and Ethan on it whilst Darren queued for an hour with Brandon for the other ride. It was an awesome ride so Darren went on with Micaela and Ethan later.
Later the kids waited patiently at the bottom of a ride while Darren and I had a turn on a big kids one. The minimum height was 120cm with a minimum weight of 45kg. I only just made the weight minimum so Micaela and Ethan had no chance. The ride was called 'the aqua loop' and I was scared stiff. I could not even open my eyes for the duration I was that scared. You go down an enclosed 360 degree looped slide. We had to start the ride by standing up in an individually enclosed tube. I was all set in mine, quietly s***ting myself, when I look over and Darren had forgotten he had Brandon's goggles in his pocket and wasn't allowed to ride with them in his there. I'm about to tell him to just leave them there and we'll come back for them, when the count down began and I was gone. Arghhhhhhh, I'm doing this on my own!!!!! But I survived to tell the tale. I ran back up the stairs and met Darren half way to get the goggles so he could have his turn. Darren didn't share my fear, we even heard a little "woo hoo" from him on the way down.
Currently the kids are excitedly looking at the Movie World brochure preparing for the proceeding day.
